After unveiling the smartphone at MWC 2018 earlier this year in February, Smartphone maker, Asus, has now launched the flagship killer Zenfone 5Z in India & many other country. One of the key highlights of the smartphone is its front and back glass design & price, dual-rear cameras with AI screen detection & protection, and Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 octa-core SoC chipset under the hood.

Asus Zenfone 5Z price in India and availability:

Earlier this year, Asus partnered Flipkart to exclusively sell the Zenfone Max Pro M1 and many other smartphone on the e-commerce platform. The Zenfone 5Z will also be available exclusively via Flipkart. You can choose between three variants. The one with 6GB RAM + 64GB storage is priced at Rs 29,998, whereas the 8GB RAM + 128GB storage is priced at Rs 32,998. The top end variant with 8GB RAM + 256GB storage will set you back by Rs 36,999. ICICI Bank credit and debit card users get Rs 2,999 instant off, which will further bring down the price to Rs 26,999 for the base variant, Rs 29,999 for mid variant, and Rs 33,999 for the top end variant. Reliance Jio users also get a total of 100GB data on 10 recharges (10GB each month) & many other offers.

Asus Zenfone 5Z specifications and features

In terms of specifications, the Zenfone 5z sports a 6.2-inch full HD+ edge-to-edge notched screen. It runs at a resolution of 1080×2246 pixels, and an aspect ratio of 19:9. As mentioned above, the smartphone is powered by the Snapdragon 845 octa-core chipset with up to 8GB of RAM and up to 256GB internal storage. There is also a hybrid slot that lets you use two SIM cards or one SIM and one microSD card for expandable storage that's rarely found now days.



For shutterbugs, the smartphone comes with a dual-camera setup at the back. This includes a 12-megapixel primary sensor with large 1.4 micron pixels, and an 8 megapixel secondary sensor that allows 115 degree wide-angle shooting and portrait mode shots. Asus has also added AI chops where the camera is capable of scene detection to automatically tune the photos you capture.

The rest of the features include an 8 megapixel selfie camera, and a 3,350mAh battery with fast charging. On the software front, the device runs Android Oreo ZenUI. For biometric authentication, the smartphone comes with a fingerprint sensor at the back, and face unlock feature as well.

In terms of connectivity, you get Bluetooth, 4G LTE with VoLTE, dual SIM card slots, Wi-Fi 802ac, GPS and USB Type-C port. At its price point, the Zenfone 5Z will compete with the likes of Honor 10 and the highly popular OnePlus 6. In fact, the Zenfone 5Z is quite cheaper than the OnePlus 6, which gives Asus some advantage.
